 The Lopez Enteral Valve acts similar to a stopcock device, which allows the healthcare worker to access enteral systems without breaking open the lines. This device is referred to as a "closed device" which protects the healthcare worker from exposure to bodily fluids that may carry blood borne pathogens such as HIV or Hepatitis C.
