Huber & Gripper Needles
A Huber Needle is used specifically for patients who receive chemotherapy or antibiotics through a port in the skin, according to the International Sharps Injury Prevention Society. Huber needles are designed to be left in the skin for days. These ports are installed in patients with poor veins in order to facilitate the administration of necessary medications. The ports are left in place on the patient indefinitely. Whenever intravenous medications must be delivered, a Huber needle is inserted into the port. A wide variety of needle gauges & lengths are available to be of assistance in both clinical settings and to patients. These gauges include: 19, 20, 22, 24, & Lengths range from ½" to 1½". GRIPPER® Needles are designed to provide more confident needle placement with implantable access systems. Developed with patient and clinician safety in mind the GRIPPER Needle is made of natural rubber, latex-free, & is available with a luer-lock Y-Site for compatibility with needleless devices.
